Hello October!

Holy Smokes where has this year flown too? It seems to just be flying by without allowing me time for anything....ROFLMAO!  (I really think it is called binge watching Netflix)....I seem to NOT get as much done each day because of my "addiction"!  I watched 22 episodes of Quantico in 2 days...I think that qualifies as an addiction, don't you? It has taken over this other "addiction" of blogging! Baahaahaahaa!

Since Christmas is so close, I have been trying to organize and section out some of my scrapping supplies for more room and they move DSD up a month on me, so....I had to do some more super shopping and pick up all the gorgeous freebies too! (especially the CU FB Hop at Digital Scrapbooking Studio). Now I have more copying and saving and reorganizing to do....Geez (secretly, I love it)!!

Yesterday was a great day all around. The Cowboys won...so did the Texas Rangers....so did Martin Truex, Jr in NASCAR and the USA team won the Ryder Cup (1st time in 8 years) and....and....and....best of all a friend came over and trimmed some really low hanging tree limbs that I was afraid would start scraping my roof....so today I got to pile all of them on the curb for trash removal tomorrow...(see I did sneak in some exercise other than pushing buttons on the remote)!

We have had superb temps this past week with lower humidity and lighter winds...so I got to open windows and screen doors to allow in some fresh air...rearrangement of some dust bunnies....and pollen to give my eyes and throat a fit...so only left them open for half the day, but loving it! To be a little warmer this week (of course, it's because the State Fair of Texas opened last Friday) but is to stay under 90F, which is great when the humidity is low!

Today my sister Kathy and her Jim have been married for 47 years...not bad, not bad at all! I hope they celebrate at least that many more! I used a QP by Brigit (DSStudio) from her kit Rustic Fall and a word art from Marisa at Pixel Scrapper.
My cousin (by marriage in 1957) passed away peacefully on the 28th. Since I could not attend his funeral in Kentucky, I created this tribute page for him using kits by Kyra at With A Russian-Dutch Heart and her CT Arlene and posted it to FB. The photo I used was the last one his wife sent before her passing in 2005. I haven't seen him since my father's funeral in 1998. RIP Kenneth, happy you will be reunited with your Nokie and your son Ronnie and his son. Should be a joyous reunion!
Can you believe it? Little Jayson turned 5 on the 27th....seems like just yesterday we celebrated his birth.  He is such a handsome lad and loves his chocolate donuts...I swiped this photo from his mom's Facebook page to use in this tribute. (O No, can't find who I got the QP from)
Since purple is Kathy's favorite color...and just because....I created this page for her using some techniques I learned in some tutorials...I used a damask overlay from Diane at ADB Designs (DSStudio) and the frame is from Neli at Lugar Encantado Da Neli.
I had some cute photos of Lance & Maggie's family that I wanted to scrap and found a great freebie by Dea using April the Scrapaholic's kit...I just added another frame to it for Maggie.  Her photo I had created a canvas for that she really likes. Those kiddos are growing way too fast too!
These double pages are for Amy's Scrapbook of her girls...I used frames by both Neli (Lugar Encantado Da Neli) and Miriam  (Miriam's Scraps)  (lace too) and created the backgrounds using a "cardboard" effect for them. Annabeth has her Mimi's look for sure in this photo and Amy walked in room to catch Eliza hiding under a blanket and snapped this adorable photo.
This QP is by Jilbert's Bits of Bytes (DSStudio) using her kit City By The Bay and I just had to add a photo of me made on the balcony of my hotel room with San Francisco Bay in the background. It was a very chilly, windy day in December of 2005! My first visit to that beautiful city! Great memories!
This one is trying out some Photoshop actions in my GIMP program....works pretty good, the photo is one taken at the Botanical Gardens in Fort Worth a few years back...just playing with the tutorials.
Here's some things I am giving away on Miriam's Scraps if you want them.

Thanks for visiting and come back again soon. I need to get out of this chair and move about a bit before my butt falls asleep...LOL! Y'all have a great week! Until next time....keep making those wonderful memories to share! Hugs, Mat

  1. Thanks for your visit on my blog!
Oh yeah, getting lazy is rather easy, but to get in gear again askes a whole lot of energy and determiniation LOL!
what the heck. If you enjoy yourself watching some great series and you can spend the time, why not?
Putting pruned stuff like bracnhes and such together in a pile is rather hard work, I know But know you don;t have to worry about your roof.
Apart from your nextflixing I say you did a lot of layouts.
I am a bit more into designing lately too again, still have to undergo a test today in hospital, won;t take long, and my denture is getting settled more and more, hopefully by the end of the week it will be completely okay.
Still having rather nice weather here, although much cooler. But as long as we have some sunshine now and then we don;t get too gloomyLOL.
Have a fantastic day and week ahead.
    Hug
    Kyra

  4. Ahh, I see you are getting the swing of retirement! I think it's fun to catch up on some of our favorite programs. I found a couple on Demand to catch up on too. Some nights I fall asleep before my program comes on, so it is good that it is waiting there on Demand for me to watch.

Your scrap pages are wonderful. You have a beautiful family, and yes, the little ones are growing up so quickly. It seems not so long ago when my first grandchild, Bobby, was born. Now he is an adult in his mid thirties with a child of his own.

With time passing us by so quickly, I think our Blog Books are a wonderful bit of history to leave behind for our families.

The weather here has turned cooler, and the nights have been dipping down into the low 40's. My trees are still green but soon they will give way to their Autumn yellows.

Today is lovely, so I think that Pogo and I will spend a little time sitting out on the porch and maybe a walk around the yard for some fresh air.

You have a wonderful day my friend, hugs, Edna B.
