Pregnant Girls!!

Here's a couple of pages I did for my niece Amy and her sister-in-law Kayla showing their pregnant bellies! Aren't they cute? Now they need to add Maggie to these photos since she is definitely pregnant too! Must be something in the water they are drinking in Georgia...LOL! Amy is due in September, I think Kayla is due a month or 6 weeks later and then Maggie is due sometime in late November...all these little cousins will get to grow up together. This is Amy's first, Kayla has one daughter, Blair and Maggie has a daughter,  Hayden!  So Penny will be grandma again x 2 and so will Amy's mother-in-law, Bessie.  Are you confused yet? Amy is my sister Penny's daughter.  Maggie is Penny's daughter-in-law.  Kayla is married to Amy's husband's brother! Maggie and Kayla are both Amy's sister's-in-law! (Can you tell I love genealogy?)!
This is a Stacked Paper from Raspberry Road Designs.
This is all from Miriam's Scraps and not sure about the Wordart designers.
This was for Kayla that she wanted of herself. The kit used is from Kyra and Arlene!
Well, off here for now, got to catch up some work....chat more with y'all next time. I have lots of photos of my sister Kathy's grand kids to make some pages with....just have to find some time! Don't know where the time goes here lately! Have a terrific day! Hugs to all! Luv, Mat

Happy Birthday Kathy!

Today is my sister Kathy's birthday! Here she is with her 3 grand babies.  She is home now with a visiting home nurse that comes in 3 times a week now. Her son and daughter-in-law (Jeff & Tiff) brought her Chinese food and spent time with her yesterday. Today, Jeff, Christina and the grand kids are all coming over today! I just called and sang happy birthday to her and cracked her up big time! I am just happy that she is well enough to go home and to be here to celebrate her 64th birthday! So have a great day sister dear and enjoy your special day! Love you bunches! Chat with the rest of y'all a little later! Luv, Mat

Always Remember

Always remember and be ever thankful for the military personnel that has sacrificed their life to protect and serve our country giving us the freedom we enjoy! Happy Memorial Day!
This is my mother's brother, Worley Frank Dugger, born August 8, 1921 and died in combat on Christmas day 1944 in Luxembourg! He was 23 when he gave his all. It took more than 6 months for his body to be returned for interment. I used a kit by BooLand Designs called Memorial Day for this creation.
Happy Birthday to Tammy Regnold....this is Nina's daughter! The photo was developed just a year or so ago when Nina found the roll of film. Age made the color not very pretty, but this one looked good when desaturated to black and white.  This page was created by Arlene using RDH kit N 3 Farfalle, I added an additional flower after the photo.
Hope all of you are enjoying your long weekend! Sharing your BBQ and family fun! Chat more with you later, hugs! Mat

Happy Birthday to Me!

Boy are the wishes coming in today, lots on here, lots on Facebook and even by e-mail. Thank you for all the fabulous wishes, I need them for sure! Now I am officially at full retirement age. Yes, I know I am not an old woman.......NOT ON YOUR LIFE!  At times I feel 30, then at other times I feel my age or older! LOL! Such is life right? It is all our frame of mind! Here's 2 pages I received this morning, the top one was by e-mail from my lovely friend Kyra in Holland. The white roses are from my Facebook account from my sweet friend Neli in Brazil. For a real treat, check out Miriam's Scraps for the special greeting she sent me!
Love all the hugs and warm wishes, y'all all know how to make a girl feel special! Chat more later! Hugs, Mat

Lots of Stormy Weather

This is a photo off a friend's Facebook of the tornado that hit Granbury just 40 miles southwest of me. It was classified as an F4 that left lots of devastation and took 6 lives. It was one of 16 that hit between 5p.m. and midnight on Wednesday. My "girls" and I took shelter in our bathroom with a flashlight, cell phone and lots of blankets in the bathtub for about 45 minutes. Our police dept has a Code Red call when a tornado is close or possible. We heeded that call. Luckily it missed us and curved a little more southward than its original track. The one that struck Cleburne (that was closer only 25 miles south of us) was a mile wide and an F3 destroying over 600 homes, but with no loss of life. The last one really close was at midnight. Needless to say I spent a very sleepless night until around 3 a.m. Because of all the bad weather, I have not been on my computer much, we had lots and lots of high wind and Lightning strikes. Yesterday the storms were 80 miles west of us (where temps were at 100+F) and 3 tornadoes touched down.....we got the lightning strikes from it. What a crazy, crazy spring it has been for all of us this year. (BTW this photo was put up because of the face of the lion....but I know it is a photo of the storm as I saw it on our local weather channel). Today is supposed to be sunny and very warm....90+F for us, we hit 89F yesterday!

Okay, some good news now.  Miss Jade graduated from kindergarten on Wednesday too. I created a page for her and put it on Facebook for her (that was prior to the storms starting). Here she is in brag book page 10 from JSS called School Rules. She is really beginning to shoot up now and looks like a big girl.
Good news about Kathy, she is expecting to be released from the Rehab Center tomorrow. Just in time for Christina's birthday Saturday. She is so excited. My birthday is this Monday and Kathy's is the next Monday so she will be home for it. I do have some photos of Kathy from Mother's Day with all her grand babies, but I just have not had time on the computer to do anything. I will try real hard to do some this weekend, but no promises as I have some real work to do today that includes having to go to Storage and pull some files for my boss. I also have some new photos of the 5 kittens playing on the "Playground" in my back yard that are so adorably cute.
O well enough chatting for today, Y'all have a fantastic weekend, make lots and lots of memories to share and I will catch up with you next time. Hugs, Mat

Hello Friends

Wow, Spring (or Summer?) is really here!! All the flowers and trees are all fully bloomed, the bees and wasps are out already and the allergens are in full force! I think I have finally finished with the spring cleaning attack and I hope it lies dormant for a good long while...LOL! Tired? You bet I am, but its a feeling good about the accomplishments tired!
Mommy cat moved her babies about 2 weeks ago after a strong storm and then lots of NOISE with lawn mowers and weed eaters and I couldn't find them. She kept coming around for food and attention, but no signs of the babies. I even had a couple of visits from a fox to clean her food bowls out for her...LOL! That was scary, but it never tried to bother her and she just sat a watched it eat. But on the morning of the 5th, she brought one of the babies out to eat with her. Cute little *%$# too! But I just watched them and when finished the baby ran back under my storage barn. Next morning, 2 of them came out to eat under Mommy's watchful eye. Then on the morning of the 7th, I took these photos of 3 of her babies. Not sure if the other 2 are still around or what, but for last 2 days have only seen the 3 little playful kittens. So, here is a couple of photos of Mommy and the babies eating at my back door! I used an older kit of Kyra's (With A Russian Dutch Heart) called A Day In The Life of Tom Kitten. The clusters by Arlene just seemed perfect since the one in the lower right corner, looks like one of these kittens! Aren't they just the cutest little things?
Sure makes me smile to watch them play. Of course they look a lot like her first litter too! I am hoping to trap her and Daddy and get both of them fixed and hope they will stay around as my outside cats. The 2 from her first litter are coming back around now to be fed and loved on. They come to the front door to be fed! Cats are such intriguing animals, so independent and each with such different personalities about them. I just adore them (as you can see)! Bubba is still the most affectionate one of them all. Daddy is real protective of Mommy and the babies, just like with the first litter! Oh, well, enough about my cats, on to fun things! :)

I had lunch with my friend Kathy T on Tuesday! She and I have been having our "birthday" luncheons for several years, but missed last year for some reason (I think she and hubby were still traveling and out of state). Her birthday is March 25th, mine is May 20th and we try to meet sometime in between and catch up! We finally found the time and had a terrific 2 hours of catching up! Sure was fun!  Yesterday morning I took Nina to the airport for her annual trek to West Virginia to visit with her sisters and families. I stopped at WalMart for Cat food and who did I run into, Kathy T.  We had a good laugh, all this time of not seeing each other and then 2 days in a row....!

My sister, Kathy, seems to be doing a little better each day! She is still experiencing problems with her blood pressure, but the heart seems to be doing okay for the time being. She really wants to go home and the doctors are all trying to come to some agreement as to when that will be safe for her and the healing wound from the infection. She is hoping to be able to spend Mother's Day at home....we will just have to see! In the meantime, I did another page for her of her grand babies that have been visiting her quite often at the rehab center. This page is using a page border that I created and placed on Miriam's Scraps as a freebie back a few days ago. If you haven't visited Miriam's blog lately, you are missing some really beautiful work from her Mini kit 13. There is a link on the right of this blog, visit both of these incredible ladies that offer lots of freebies for scrap booking. You will not be disappointed! The wordart is one offered by Donna that you can find a link to as well.
OK enough for today, must get something accomplished and get my behind out of this chair. Thanks for stopping by, y'all all have a great rest of the week and wonderful weekend ahead. Hugs, Mat
