I'm trying to get the house cleaning, washing etc done so that I don't have to worry about it for a couple of weeks. The surgery to restore my right rotator cuff is scheduled for Tuesday the 4th at 3 p.m. Can you imagine NOTHING to eat or drink after midnight???? They will surely have a much harder time trying to find a vein to insert the IV catheter with me being so dehydrated by 3 p.m. After all, it took 3 attempts to just find a vein to draw blood in pre-op and that was with me hydrated.
:0)! O well. The surgeon says it will take 4 months for the cuff to reattach to the bones, but that I will be able to return to work in 2 weeks as long as I do not remove my arm from my right side from the elbow to the shoulder. He will be anchoring the cuff in 4 places. It may be a while before I can scrap comfortably, but I need to give my shoulder some healing time. I will be using a tens unit and ice to help with the pain since I am allergic to pain meds. I have done a few scraps for SBF challenges lately and just some for me so thought I would share them with you. I will be making my coffee chat rounds or evening walks to all of your blogs when I am able. Thanx for all the prayers and good wishes...Luv to all of you! Later, Mat This is my beautiful niece, Amy. The photo is from her brother's wedding where she was an attendant. Since she lives in deep south GA, I thought the parasol a real Southern Belle touch. The kit I used is by Cindee called An Old Fashioned Wedding. This is a view of the Colorado Rockies that I took from the rear of the motorcycle in 2003 on our way from Ridgeway north to the Moab desert in Utah. This is another from the trip in September 2003 from the Million Dollar Highway between Durango and Silverton. Framed in kit called Autumn Walk by Miss Carol of CJS! This is a made up page of several of Carol's kits for the challenge to scrap my friend Annita's grandson's 9 month old Colton. I put my "girls" when they were babies in the page too This one speaks for itself, I put the photos in a QP I downloaded from the digi-free site.

Happy Weekend All!!
I am totally amazed at where the time goes. I seem to either be getting slower at things I do or the time is just flying by. It took me all day to clean house and wash clothes and fix dinner yesterday. But I did manage to scrap a few pages last evening before crashing. I got Carol's newest kit and it is so lovely, I just had to make a few pages with it. Posted them on SBF and am hoping that today I can make a few QP's for her with the kit. Here are the ones I did last evening. Have a lovely weekend, I am headed to the rehab center to wish my MIL a happy birthday so will chat later y'all. Luv Mat
The first is of my niece Sebrina. I pinched her photo from her facebook space. She is a elementary school teacher in south Texas.
These two are my great nieces, Jade & Ruby who are 2 1/2 & 7 months old and live in Missouri.
This page was just for fun using some of the transparencies in this gorgeous kit. Check out Angelscrappers site you see on the right here and grab this fantastic new kit Summer Breeze.

Where did this week go?
I can't believe it is already Sunday afternoon. This has been an extremely busy week and it just flew by! On Tuesday, my MIL had total knee replacement that took 6 1/2 hours of my day, then having to stop by the hospital on way to work and after work each day, they moved her into rehab yesterday, so today have been over getting her settled....whew, what a chore. In the meantime, my housework has to be done and clothes washed and meals fixed....running over to the veranda everyday to replenish the juleps....etc. I have managed to make a couple of quick pages of the girls for a challenge on SBF and some of my great nieces just to use some backgrounds a friend made. Gonna upload them to share and wish all of you a terrific week ahead. I am pooped and ready for a break. Whatever you do, make memories to share later. Luv y'all! Mat
MzKitty showing off how much she detests her photo taken....too bad! Used Miss Carol's Cute Kit. Oreo has such a gorgeous face and so lovely eyes, again using Miss Carol's kits. Finally, here is baby with her dirty face....such a soft sweet kitty cat. This too is Miss Carol's handiwork to show her so lovely. All 3 of these backgrounds were done by Donna, The Adirondack Queen on SBF, took 15 minutes to do all 3 so uploaded them last evening. Thanx for looking and chat later. Mat

Another scrapping weekend.
I've just been scrapping away. I made this page for a challenge on SBF called I am a ----baby. To scrap a page of the month and season of year you were born. Since I am an end of Spring baby, I chose this photo of me in 1948 and several kits from CJS called, New Spring, Fun Kit, A Day at the Park and DGB kit. Sure had fun with it, hope you enjoy it.
This page took a while to do as it is for the challenge of your favorite vacation. Only 1 page for the challenge. Since we have had so many marvelous ones, it was hard to choose, but I finally chose the trip to India since it will probably be the only trip we will make in that direction. The kits used here were; background I made from one of the river photos, the film strips are from Nayyan's Always & Forever kit on SBF and all the photos had to be resized. I am fairly pleased with the results.
for the rest of the weekend, I will be playing on the Ancestry.com pages uploading photos for the family tree. Whatever y'all do this weekend have fun...chat with ya later. Luv, Mat

Happy, Happy Birthday Gerri
Happy birthday Gerri, Thelma, Al's Nurse or whatever you happen to be answering to this lovely day! I've had this page made for over a week and tried my best to find it this morning to load, so I hid it from myself, what's new? and no I have not been in the juleps this morning, I've been trying to find this page to post (argh!). Anyhow, just wanted you to know I did not forget the day, just too many other things happening at once, besides have been on the phone most of the morning....LOL! I hope you have a marvelous day and as I leave here will go to the veranda to make you a pitcher or two all your own so you can celebrate in style today! Luv Ya bunches!! Mat
The Hills celebrate July 4th
Just got these photos yesterday so I really did need to make a page of them. This is my nephew Jason, his wife Christina and their 2 daughters, Jade & Ruby, in a family portrait while all dressed in their patriotic shirts. Since there was a challenge on SBF for July 4th pages, I made this to submit. The kit is PascaleA's Stars & Stripes that is a freebie download on SBF. Jade is now 2 1/2 and Ruby is 6 months. Aren't they just the cutest? Now I have all 3 of my adorable little great nieces on here. Thanx for looking y'all, chat later. Luv, Mat

It's Wednesday!
Well this work week is almost through for me. I work Monday-Thursday. I am excited that it has gone so swiftly, but with my boss still out, I really have nothing to do at the office but be there. I had an MRI on my shoulder yesterday and got the results about 2 hours ago, rotator cuff tear of the right shoulder. *&%$ you know what that means #$%&! Will have to go see an orthopedic surgeon. Not fun!! Here are a few more pages I've done up just because. The Japanese Tea Garden is using Forever & Always kit by Miss Carol, the one of Hayden is 2 kits by PascaleA called Forever Yours and Blessed Secret. Well, off to watch my America's Got Talent...chat later y'all! Luv, Mat>

Scrapping 4th
Well, I spent the whole 4th doing what I wanted...I scrapped pages and cooked. I made a couple of pitchers of juleps for the girls and left on the veranda and came back to cook. We had a scrumptuous dinner with the neighbors across the street that we prepared together then I made scrap page after scrap page. I entered a few challenges on SBF just for the fun of scrapping. O BTW I won 1st & 3rd in the Family History Book Challenge. Anyhow, here are some of the pages I did yesterday, thought you might like to view them. Got to finish washing clothes today to play catch up for taking the day off yesterday...LOL! Oreo helped me with most of these pages, laying on my keyboard as much as she could. Well, off to do the chores, have a great restful fun filled Sunday. Chat more with ya later! Luv, Mat
I did this from our last visit in 2003 to Mt. Rushmore with Mike's parents. The kit is from SBF Designers PascaleA called Stars & Stripes. This was the first page I did yesterday.
This I did as a tribute for the SBF Challenge, since she is a TX girl, I used an old background from my GWRRA newsletter days, photo from the net, the crackle overlay belongs to Miss Carol and the yellow rose is one of mine I got in 2007.
This was done for the Simple & Clean II Challenge, photo taken in 2005 at the Grand Tetons, Mike likes the ski trails still visible in June. The background is from Lynneboo's Pale as Blue kit and the Frame is from CJS kit.
