My friend Edna at Miss Edna's Place sent me an awesome award. Thank you Edna, sorry it has taken me so long to post it, but had to think about the questions a bit and we had severe wind and storms yesterday, so I did not have my computer on with all the lightning strikes! Here goes!!
The rules are pretty easy: (1) Visit and thank the blogger who
nominated you. (2) Acknowledge that blogger on your blog and link back
to them. (3) Answer the five simple questions. (4) Nominate blogs
for the award and notify each of them. (5) Display the award on your
blog somewhere.
Here are the questions with my answers.
1. If you could change one thing, what would you change?
The way our senior citizens are treated!
2. If you could repeat an age, what would it be?
I had a tough time with this one, probably right where I am because all that I have experienced so far has led me to where I am know with the knowledge, security and happiness that I have now.
3. What is one thing that really scares you?
The lack of respect for others! (The total disrespect for life, be it
human or animal! Why people have to be so insensitive and cruel is way
beyond me!)
4. What is one dream you have not completed, and do you think you'll be able to complete it?
I have pretty much completed all my dreams, the one left if that my family be well taken care of (not necessarily rich, but comfortable) and happy!
5. If you could be someone else for one day, who would it be?
A cat...so I could be treated the way mine are...LOL!
Now I would like to pass this award on to:
(Between Miss Edna and Kyra...they have taken some of my nominees, but let's see if I can come up with a couple)...LOL! Thanks to all of you who share so much, not just freebies, but your friendship with us!
Miriam at Miriam's Scraps
Monica at Mgtcs Digital Art-Free Stuff
Neli at Lugar Encantado da Neli
Donna at Donna's Digital Creations
Okay, I think I did it! Now off to let everyone know they have an award! Chat with y'all later! Got some things I have to do today! Make lots of memories to share! Luv, Mat

Cinderella Hayden!
Margaret sent me this photo of Hayden who says she is Cinderella, so I just had to create a page for her as she is getting ready to ride her carriage to the castle. I used some stuff from Sandee, the brick road and mountain overlay from Miriam came up with this page! Hope she likes it!
It's really gray, cloudy, damp and cool this morning, so thought I'd sit a chat a couple minutes with y'all! Had a busy night last night...for some reason, my phone lost it's dial tone, so at 9 pm was on my cell with AT&T to correct it, they wound up screwing with the TV and internet as well. Had to move furniture, unplug and replug phone, router, etc and finally at 10:15 I had all restored. Then I had to put the furniture back in place AFTER sweeping under it all...LOL! By the time I got to bed I was wide awake, so out came the Kindle and read for another hour or so. Did not awaken until 6:35 and my "girls" were all in my face about their breakfast being late! LOL!
OK, guess I will watch some movies today and take it kinda easy! I deserve it, yes I do!! ROFL here! Anyway, off for now, hope you have a terrific Sunday doing what you love best and making memories to share! Have a beautiful week ahead and I'll chat more next time. Luv, Mat

Pretty Little Ruby
I have been busy today...the computer guy came and got my work computer to see if he can figure out why it quit working....so with an empty space that showed lots of dust and cat hair....I got a wild hair to change up my office...cleaning and dusting and rearranging....LOL! Now I am too pooped to move! But I did finish it as much as I could and it looks a wee bit roomier...for sure it is cleaner. I feel better about it even if I am tired!
I got this photo of Ruby from Christina's FB page...isn't it sweet? She just loves the color purple, so I had made this lavender ice page and decided to make her a page with it....her photos are seldom by herself. She loves to follow Jade around or boss baby brother Jayson when Jade is in school. Typical middle child, huh?
She loves necklaces too! Doesn't she have a cute smile? Anyhow I liked it and chose Miss Boots' (Linda at Random Thoughts) Wordart of Sunshine Smiles. Ruby is playing on the stairs to a slide I think.
Enjoy your day, what's left of it, making memories to share with all of us...Chat more next time, Luv, Mat

Winter?
We have been pushing temps close to 70 for a couple of days! What happened to winter? A weak but very windy cold front is pushing through now, a little nippy, but really blowing trash around. For the life of me I can't understand why people cannot tie up or cover their trash cans! Anyhow, we are to only see about 60 today, but the temps are to steadily climb to about 72 by Thursday!
I spent way too many hours in front of the TV this weekend! LOL! i watched some of the Barrett Jackson auction...a lot of HGTV.....and both NFL playoff games yesterday! I was happy with both, they were good games and am excited about watching brothers coach their teams in the Super Bowl! What time I was not in front of the TV...I was doing some research on Ancestry.com. I even designed a couple of freebies that I posted on Miriam's Scraps. Now that she has her internet services back, she has a gorgeous kit she just put up if you are interested. Check over on the right for a link to her site!
I downloaded a collaboration kit from 4 designers at the Studio called Winter Ice, they were doing mini LOs that I thought I would join, so I did this page of Jade in her winter coat. But, I decided to not join in so, thought I would post it here for y'all to see her pretty smile (they are far and few)!
Y'all have a great week making memories, those of you lucky enough to have the day off, enjoy it! Chat more next time....Luv, Mat

Happy Birthday Inez!!
Happy, happy, happy birthday to my friend of many, many years, Inez! Pamper yourself today sweetie and have a marvelous one, you so deserve it! Much love is sent your way today and always!! Remember this photo? Early 1980's...LOL! Those were the good times, huh? As this saying imparts, Memories can happen anywhere and this photo really opened a flood gate for me. Hope it does for you as well. Love ya girlfriend and always will!
I used Miriam's gorgeous QP1 from her Mini kit 9 (Yes, she is back online and has a gorgeous kit with lots of extras she is offering). The wordart is from Ginger! Got lots to do today, so this post is short, just wanted to wish my ex sister-in-law a happy birthday! Chat more next time....keep making those memories to share!

Good Ravioli!
Isn't this just the best way to enjoy eating ravioli? I snitched these photos from Chris' FB site and just had to do a page! LOL! he is so darned cute! I know she was laughing so hard when she snapped these with her phone camera! She had started cleaning him up and snapped another! He really looks like he was enjoying feeding himself! He is walking now too! Big Boy at 15 months old! I used a quick page by Neli!
Gotta run some errands, so will be short today, may be back later since I snitched some of the girls too...LMBO....that I just have to create pages for as well! Chat more next time! Have a super weekend making lots of memories to share! Hugs!! Mat

3.45" of much needed rain.....
Well, meteorologists were right for a change! How did that happen? We received 3.45 inches of rain over the past 2 days....the very beneficial kind....slow steady and able to seep into the ground and run off into the lakes and water sheds! We needed it so very badly, now it is time to dry out before the next bout on Sunday! To be in 60's today and 70's tomorrow! Then Sunday night back in the 20's! No wonder so much flu breakout in this area. Have lost 2 small children (6 & 7) from the flu within 12 hours of leaving an emergency room where parents were told to give them Tylenol and a antihistamine! Many pharmacies and doctor offices are without any vaccine for the flu! Hospitals are full. I am being very cautious and trying to stay home and away from large crowds. I have had my flu shot, but with age creeping up (like a stampede it seems to me!) it is easier for infections to set in! So, since I have been cooped up for more than 2 days, I have been scrapping, scrapping, scrapping! Loving it too!
Here are some pages I did for Hayden that I hope you will enjoy looking at! The first one is in a QP by Neli, my dear friend in Brazil....you can find a link on the right in my favorite sites, she has some really beautiful QPs and even some mixes of elements that she offers freely and daily! Hayden fell asleep in her car seat and Margaret took her photo. I'm not sure who the designer is for the pink polka dot word art, it is called A Bit Wordy Word Art with a TOU and a Thank You, but no name of the designer....strange! But thank you whoever you are for the lovely freebie that really sets this page off!
Okay, this is enough pages for my sweet Hayden today! I just downloaded a lot of photos from Christina's FB page of Jade, Ruby and Jayson....so guess I will do some of them next...get ready! ROFL!
When it dries a little, guess I had better get some of those leaves up....gotta call my yard guy and see if he can work me in...they caused a bit of a "dam" causing lots of water in the driveway (over my ankles) and the only "dry" place for my outdoor kitties to hide, eat and sleep was in the leaves in front of the cars and shed! Poor babies are ready for some sunshine!
Well, off here for now so I can get something done besides sitting on my rump all day AGAIN!! LMBO!! Y'all have a great day, make lots of memories to share and I'll chat more with ya next time! Hugs!! Mat

Next we have Miss Hayden in another QP from the CHRISTmas collection
that Neli offered us. She was standing by the tree in her jacket so I
put her outside looking in at the Teddy with his presents. Too cute,
huh?
This page was so fun to make....it is called Cabin Porch and is by Lanell at Never Forget Memories who is also listed in my favorites on the right. Give her a visit too for some awesome free QPs and textures to help you with creating your pages. Since Lance & Margaret are avid outdoors people (they live on a farm in south GA) with horseback riding, hunting, fishing, etc...this page was perfect for a family page. They have a black lab called Chevy (this is not a lab, but close nuff...LOL!) Anyhow, just could not resist this one!Okay, this is enough pages for my sweet Hayden today! Happy Birthday to my friend Kyra!
Today is Kyra's birthday (With A Russian Dutch Heart) so I wanted to wish her a special and very happy birthday! I used one of her kits (distant whisper) since purple is her favorite color, and Beautiful Soul (which she really is and such a very generous one too) word art is from Linda at Random Thoughts! I want to thank Kyra so very much for all her lovely scrapkits that we get from her 3 times a week! I love reading her entertaining blog (you can find a link on the right) and so enjoy her friendship! Have a happy, happy day my friend! May you be blessed with many, many more to come! Love Ya! Mat

2012 in Review!!
I was "cleaning" up my computer this morning, ya know how that is right? Putting photos on DVD and some scrapping kits....etc! Just to have more room and faster computer. As I was organizing the photos, I decided to check a few each month to see what I had taken. Oh the memories....so I decided to do a little layout and use one photo from each month to put in my 2012 in Review. Here are some of the happiest occasions!!
In January, my "girls" were sleeping on my big king sized bed as I was still trying to reorganize the room and trying to get more space and less clutter! Closet reorganized, lots of clothes and other stuff donated. Sure felt good!
February was so nice and warm that I got out some of my succulent plants to get some sunshine in the front yard. Then I got more plants and put them in pots both on the ground and hanging to make my little "garden" very colorful and to get some exercise outside in the lovely weather. I got the itch to change things in my living room, totally changed all the color scheme and had a lot of fun redecorating!
In March I had a friend come by to help me take the headboard and attached night stands from the bed, giving the room a lot, lot more space in there! I also got all my yards cleaned and edged and so pretty. Lots of trash that had been laying around all gone, some minor repairs done and feeling great! Also, Nina bought my birthday gift early and planted the yellow hibiscus beneath my front window.
In April I was preparing to help Nina give her granddaughter a baby shower. This was my first and LAST baby shower to host. (probably my last to attend too!) Anyhow, this is the big laundry basket of stuff that I got for Emorie who was born in June! Everything is looking great in the garden too, lots of beautiful color!
In May, Nina and I decided to go to a few garage sales in our immediate area (this is another of my NOT favorite things to do, I have enough of my own junk). This is the $10 find I purchased...a solid wood dresser. I cleaned it and polished it, put it in my new bedroom space! I also found a wood end table for the living room for a whopping $8 and Nina bought a wood bookcase for $2...last of the big spenders, huh?
June found Nina's 2 granddaughters from Georgia here visiting and we all went to the Fort Worth Zoo where we had a wonderful time (and they got to me Emorie when she was born). I also found a feral cat had given birth to 4 kittens in my back yard that I tried befriending by feeding her twice daily.
In July, I flew to Florida where my sister picked me up, went back to her house in Georgia, we loaded up her daughter, daughter-in-law and her granddaughter and headed out for a trip of a lifetime. We went to Tennessee, saw family, met my friend Scarlett, then went on over to Illinois and Missouri to see more family before heading back to Georgia and me to Florida to fly back home! Great 10 days spent with my loved ones!
So in August my hibiscus was so pretty and such big blooms (actually 2 different types of blooms on one bush)! It was great being back home and enjoying my garden, my girls and the new kittens that still would not allow me very close.
September I got my new queen size bed and another new dresser...still lots of room after selling the kingsized bed, dresser and chest! A whole new look now from light wood to dark wood and brass. Lots of fun decorating the room again until my back started acting up again. Lots of trouble bending, sitting and standing so time to relax again and hope it will calm down.
I finally got to photo the kittens in October. I still feed the 3 survivors and the Mommy comes to visit me in the front to eat, but stays away from her babies now that they are old enough to care for themselves with my help....LOL! I am totally in love with all of them and wish I could have all in my house, but alas, with laws I can't.
In November the day before Thanksgiving, I finally had my back procedure done and found relief for my poor back so it was a kind of quiet month. I took lots of photos of the girls and of a friends funeral, so I just put up a photo of me taken when I actually had on some makeup....shock, shock! (ROFLMAO!)
December, I got out my decorations for the yard and the house and all up! I visited with lots of friends over the holidays and did lots of shopping with Nina. We actually got an inch of snow on CHRISTmas day! This is a rare occasion for this area! We had it all of about 28 hours and temperatures below freezing for a whole 43 hours! It actually felt like CHRISTmas for a change!
If you wonder what you did this past year...do what I did, you will be surprised at what all you did in such a short period of time....because 2012 seemed like it just flew in day before yesterday and it is gone already. Maybe because I was so busy having so much fun making all these memories???? Anyhow, hope 2013 is really good to you and yours! 13 is my lucky number...I know my year is gonna be the best yet! Y'all just keep on making those memories...they are so much fun to visit! Chat more later! Luv, Mat
